Charbel Azzi has specialised in complex property, planning and tax contractual and litigation matters since the commencement of his legal career at leading national law firm, Clayton Utz, over a decade ago.
His experience includes acting for clients such as the Department of Planning and Environment, the Barangaroo Development Authority, AMP Capital and Property, Merc Property Capital, National Australia Bank and numerous state wide property developers.
He has frequently appeared in the Supreme Court of NSW, the NSW Court of Appeal, the NSW Land and Environmental Court and the Federal Court of Australia.
His recent work includes advice on corporate and property disputes including substantial shareholder and partnership disputes, contractual disputes concerning multi-level residential and commercial developments and NSW Land and Environment Court appeals to development applications including SEPP procedures and applications.
As a member of CPA Australia, Charbel has also advised on the minimisation of income tax, land tax, GST and stamp duty implications to various group structures and development transactions. Charbel graduated with First-Class Honours in Law from the University of Technology Sydney and First-Class Honours in Commerce from the University of Sydney.
